Duke Energy Ohio & Kentucky are advancing their commitments to customer safety by deploying artificial intelligence (AI) to detect scams targeting energy customers.

Duke Energy Ohio & Kentucky recently announced the recipients of their 2025 Economic Development Awards, which recognize communities and individuals who continually support growth and economic development efforts in the region.

Duke Energy selected three properties in Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky for inclusion in its 2025 Site Readiness Program, which prepares high-potential business and industrial sites for economic development investments and markets them nationwide to companies looking to start, expand or relocate their operations.

Aug. 11 is National Safe Digging Day (also known as 811 Day) and Duke Energy and Piedmont Natural Gas are advising customers and excavators to call 811 at least three business days before beginning any outdoor project that involves digging.

Duke Energy has restored power to more than 41,000 customers who were affected by severe and damaging storms that ripped through Ohio and Kentucky last night, causing more than 48,000 power outages across the region. Crews are working to restore approximately 7,000 customers who remained without power as of 10:15 a.m. ET.
