Duke Energy today declared a quarterly cash dividend on its common stock of $0.855 per share payable on March 16, 2017, to shareholders of record at the close of business Feb. 17, 2017.

Duke Energy today announced third quarter 2016 reported diluted EPS, prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) of $1.70, compared to $1.35 for third quarter 2015. Third quarter 2016 adjusted diluted EPS was $1.68, compared to $1.47 for third quarter 2015.

Duke Energy announced today it has reached an agreement to sell its international businesses in Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, El Salvador and Argentina to I Squared Capital for approximately $1.2 billion enterprise value (cash and the assumption of debt). This represents the full remainder of the Latin American businesses Duke Energy is exiting.

Duke Energy announced today it has reached an agreement to sell its holdings in Brazil to China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) for approximately $1.2 billion in cash and the assumption of debt. The after-tax proceeds from the transaction are expected to be used to reduce Duke Energy holding company debt.

Duke Energy will release its third quarter 2016 financial results at 7 a.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 4.

Duke Energy today announced second quarter 2016 reported diluted earnings per share (EPS), prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) of $0.74, compared to $0.78 for second quarter 2015. Second quarter 2016 adjusted diluted EPS was $1.07, compared to $0.95 for second quarter 2015.

Duke Energy's proposed acquisition of Piedmont Natural Gas gained important support today as the North Carolina Public Staff reached agreement with Duke Energy and Piedmont on certain stipulations and conditions for approval of the transaction.
