Duke Energy and Piedmont Natural Gas celebrate the eighth annual Natural Gas Utility Workers’ Day on March 18, 2023. The annual celebration spotlights natural gas workers’ role in providing nearly 187 million Americans with safe, reliable and affordable natural gas service every day.

Piedmont Natural Gas has received approval from the North Carolina Utilities Commission, the Public Service Commission of South Carolina and the Tennessee Public Utility Commission to reduce customer billing rates due to a decrease in the market cost of natural gas compared to last fall.

The Southeast Hydrogen Hub coalition today announced it is among the limited number of organizations encouraged by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to submit a full application in response to the $8 billion in funding for regional clean hydrogen hubs under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

A newly formed coalition including major utility companies Dominion Energy, Duke Energy, Louisville Gas & Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company (LG&E and KU), Southern Company and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), along with Battelle and others, announced today its plan to pursue federal financial support for a Southeast Hydrogen Hub.
