As energy use rises, Duke Energy encourages customers to take advantage of easy-to-join programs and simple solutions to maximize savings on their bills.

With the Carolinas experiencing an unusually long period of freezing weather and preparing for more, including possible accumulation of snow in some areas, heating systems are working harder. To help customers manage their energy usage and costs during these extended cold temperatures, Piedmont Natural Gas reminds customers about tips, resources and assistance programs.

Through the Share the Light Fund®, Duke Energy, its Foundation, customers and employees have contributed more than $670,000 in South Carolina to community agencies this year alone – helping neighbors keep their homes warm and powered when it matters most.

As temperatures drop this holiday season, more families are turning to community resources to make ends meet. Duke Energy and its partners are stepping up to help.

Through the Share the Light Fund®, Duke Energy Florida and the Duke Energy Foundation, employees and customers contributed nearly $650,000 to community partners in 2025 alone – helping keep the lights on for families in need when it mattered the most.
