Resiliency is the ability to recover quickly from a disruption, and Duke Energy Florida has been preparing ahead of the start of hurricane season to respond quickly and restore power faster when the next storm strikes.

Duke Energy crews continue to make progress bringing customers back to service from Tuesday’s powerful storms.

Duke Energy has restored power to more than 43,000 customers who were affected by the supercell storm that ripped through Indiana yesterday, causing more than 95,000 power outages. Approximately 52,000 remain out of service as of 11 a.m. today.

As tropical activity begins to pick up this summer, so do Duke Energy’s efforts to help Florida customers and communities prepare for hurricanes and other emergencies.

The United States Department of Defense (DOD) has signed on to Duke Energy’s (NYSE: DUK) Green Source Advantage (GSA) program to provide renewable energy on behalf of the five largest DOD major military installations across North Carolina and South Carolina, including Fort Liberty, USMC-Camp Lejeune, USMC-Cherry Point, USAF Seymour Johnson and USAF Shaw.
