As part of National Consumer Protection Week this week, Duke Energy is reiterating its warning to customers about the tricks scammers use to steal money, and how customers can protect themselves from falling victim to utility scams.

Duke Energy crews have now restored all but about 1,000 customers in Indiana following a strong storm system that roared through the state Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

More than 15,000 Duke Energy customers in Indiana remain without electric service following powerful storms late Tuesday night and this morning. This is down from a high of nearly 31,000 customer outages at 9:15 a.m. today.

Duke Energy Indiana’s first large-scale solar power plant is now in commercial service and sending clean, renewable solar energy to customers throughout its 69-county service territory.
