Duke Energy asked customers to conserve energy usage as crews restored power following rotating outages in the Carolinas in response to high-energy demand Saturday morning.

Duke Energy Carolinas (DEC) and Duke Energy Progress (DEP), like a number of other utilities, have urged customers to conserve their usage and in some cases, the company is implementing load shedding steps that include interruptions in service.

As extreme temperatures drive unusually high energy demand across the Carolinas, Duke Energy is requesting customers to reduce their energy use for the next 24-hours.
