Duke Energy Progress is seeking to recover costs for the fuel used to generate electricity for North Carolina homes and businesses.

Duke Energy Progress is seeking to recover costs for the fuel used to generate electricity for South Carolina homes and businesses. If approved by the Public Service Commission of South Carolina (PSCSC), the average monthly residential bill would increase by 3.7% beginning Aug. 1.

Piedmont Natural Gas has received approval from the North Carolina Utilities Commission to reduce customer billing rates due to a decrease in the market cost of natural gas. The decrease will be reflected beginning with customers’ May 2023 bills.

Piedmont Natural Gas has received approval from the North Carolina Utilities Commission, the Public Service Commission of South Carolina and the Tennessee Public Utility Commission to reduce customer billing rates due to a decrease in the market cost of natural gas compared to last fall.

Today, Duke Energy Florida updated its fuel and capacity rate request due to falling natural gas cost projections, which will lower a typical residential customer bill by approximately $8.50 per month.

The Public Service Commission of South Carolina (PSCSC) has approved a comprehensive settlement agreement with all parties in the Duke Energy Progress rate review request filed with the commission in September of last year. As a result, new customer rates are expected to take effect April 1.
